Production of the only fashion-doll-sized wheelchair on the market has begun!
Although we are still waiting on a production timeline, the manufacturer estimated that all wheelchairs will be completed on the week of October 23rd. After production, products are usually shipped by sea to our warehouse, which can take a month, but we are getting quotes to ship all backer wheelchairs to our warehouse by airmail, which will would only take about 3-4 days. And, once they are in our warehouse, it will take 4-5 days to get to you. So, despite the delays, we're doing everything we can to speed up the process!
We understand that some of you bought this wheelchair as a gift and that you expected it much sooner. The awesome news is that the wheelchair is already in production and it will be shipped to you, based on the information we have, by early September. Thank you for your patience and for making this amazing toy a reality! We really think you'll like it!

Yesterday we inspected 3 wheelchair samples from the manufacturer to determine if anything needs to be adjusted before production begins.
We told the manufacturer they have the green light to begin production! We asked them to watch for miniscule details such as careful painting during the production phase. So, right now we are waiting for word from them on when production will start. Once production begins we'll announce the long awaited shipping date to you. At this point we think the wheelchairs will begin shipping to you by early-mid October.
We understand that this is longer than expected, but we feel the wait will be worth it. Often times, in crowdfunded production, the first iteration has issues which are solved in version 2.0. But we feel we've gotten the wheelchair to the point that a company like Hasbro would be proud to release it in all toy stores.
They are easy to assemble, made of extremely sturdy plastic, and connect nicely. We can't wait for you to see it in person!!!! Thank you for bringing to life the first fashion doll sized wheelchair since 1997!

After we received the manufacture's sample on August 18th we noticed that one of the wheel connections wasn't as strong as the adjacent wheel connection. So, the manufacturer made an adjustment to strengthen it.
We will receive the second sample from the manufacturer this Friday, when we hope to give the green light to start production.
We could have given the green light on August 18th but we want the wheelchair to be as sturdy as possible for everyone who has made it a reality. Thank you so much for your patience!

We received the production sample from the manufacturer and are in love! (see pictures below) The different parts of the wheelchair connect nicely, the wheels glide smoothly, and the seat cover is super vibrant.
Right now we are confirming with the manufacture some small details (such as color of the wheels) before we hit the green light on production and announce a shipping date.
We understand it's taken longer than expected to get your wheelchair to you. The different connecting parts of the wheelchair took a while to get right for the tooling.
Thank you for your patience and for making this iconic toy a reality. For the first time since 1997, fashion dolls will have a wheelchair! And it's all because of you.

On Tuesday, August 15th, we will receive the production sample from the manufacturer (see below for photos)! We need to confirm that the pieces fit together nicely before hitting the green light on production and then shipping to all backers. Because the manufacturer spent the last 5 weeks making sure that the pieces fit together well, we are confident that we'll be able to approve the sample. Once we approve it, we will announce the date your wheelchair will be shipped to you.
We understand that production has taken longer than expected. We've asked for your and other backers' wheelchairs to be shipped right after they are made.
Below are photos of the latest sample from the manufacturer. The final production version will have some colors adjustments on the big wheels. Thank you for getting us to this point! Once the wheelchair is shipped to you, it will be the only fashion doll wheelchair on the market.
While this production sample looks nearly identical to the 3D printed prototype from the Kickstarter video and photos, it's taken a lot of fine tuning and work to create this production ready wheelchair.
